- Beastie Boyz The release of To The 5 Boroughs is pretty big news, seeing as it’s the first album the Beasties have put out since 1998’s Hello Nasty. Needless to say, the album will have a few politically-charged lyrics and, as the title suggests, many of the songs are about the band’s beloved hometown, New York City.
The album will also bring some long-awaited touring action. The Beasties have already signed on to play the Summer Sonic Festival in Tokyo at the beginning of August and are finalizing plans for a world tour. Seeing as 5 Boroughs is their first album in six years, the band are bound to pull some special publicity stunts in major centres like, say, Toronto, so stay tuned for any breaking news.

- Andy Kaufman Returns - maybe? "Andy Kaufman faked his own death 20 years ago and has returned, alive and well. DNA tests prove that this is indeed the real Kaufman and not another hoax. Some fans are outraged, others are just glad to know the legendary comic is alive."
New York City, NY (PRWEB) May 19, 2004-- Twenty years ago, on May 16, 1984, most of the world believed that we had lost a comedic legend forever.
This has turned out to be what will inevitably be known as the greatest comic prank ever conceived. Andy Kaufman, by all accounts, is alive and well at age 55 and is now living in New York City on the upper west side. To his loyal supporters and fans, Andy says "sorry about faking my death," in a recent interview with ABC News at his apartment. In order to reach legendary comic status and seal his place in the history of performance art, he said it was "necessary to go away for twenty years."

- Jon Stewart's Commencement Address Jon Stewart recently gave a speech to a class of graduating college students... Some interesting things were said...
"So how do you know what is the right path to choose to get the result that you desire? And the honest answer is this. You won’t. And accepting that greatly eases the anxiety of your life experience. "
"I was not exceptional here, and am not now. I was mediocre here. And I’m not saying aim low. Not everybody can wander around in an alcoholic haze and then at 40 just, you know, decide to be president. You’ve got to really work hard to try to…I was actually referring to my father."
"College is something you complete. Life is something you experience. So don’t worry about your grade, or the results or success. Success is defined in myriad ways, and you will find it, and people will no longer be grading you, but it will come from your own internal sense of decency which I imagine, after going through the program here, is quite strong…although I’m sure downloading illegal files…but, nah, that’s a different story. "
"I was in New York on 9-11 when the towers came down. I lived 14 blocks from the twin towers. And when they came down, I thought that the world had ended. And I remember walking around in a daze for weeks. And Mayor Guiliani had said to the city, “You’ve got to get back to normal. We’ve got to show that things can change and get back to what they were.”
"And one day I was coming out of my building, and on my stoop, was a man who was crouched over, and he appeared to be in deep thought. And as I got closer to him I realized, he was playing with himself. And that’s when I thought, “You know what, we’re gonna be OK.” "

- Hola - Prodigy is back Yo!
Ive never been so excited about one album so much this year then prodigys new release. The Dirtchamber Sessions. Its totally kick arse. Its like Rappers Delight meets Run Dmc meets Fatboyslim meets Flavour Flav.
The album is a mix album, a DJ-set done by Liam. It started out as a DJ-set for the radio show 'Breezeblock' on Britain's Radio 1. Liam did initially not want to do the DJ set but when he thought about it further he decided to go on and do it since mixing actually was the way he started out his musical career. After the radio mix Liam went back to his studio to add and tweak the mix a little for the album release. Unfortunately he couldn't get licenses for all of the tracks used in the original Breezeblock set so he had to re-work it with a few tracks scrapped and a few new tracks added. And wolla the album was created.
Ive also uploaded track no2 ... Click here to download and listen
Ohh and the Cover design is neat as well ...
all in all 8/10

- If you see it, duck; mission accomplished!!!
people need something to talk about anyway
im more than happy to be a source of gossip
all press is good press;
but i dont like being sometimes
so i guess it means i have to talk less; share less;
which i've had to do before ...
actually i prefer it like that; more mystique --
you've gotta find things out, make guesses
dont believe it unless you hear it from the horse's mouth
dont believe it unless you see it;
if you see it, duck;

- And Then, bam -- It's Here And then, bam -- it's here, it's pretty much playable, and it's already well on its way to making its impact on the handheld market.
After Sony's "Let's watch a movie on our cool new gaming handheld!" conference, we were a little worried about the state of development of the PSP. The portable platform was a showcase of the conference, and many game videos were displayed, but nothing too interactive was running yesterday

- Does Microsoft Care About Web Standards? The question must seem absurd. After all, Microsoft is a member of the W3C and an active participant in the development of web standards. Each new Microsoft product announcement seems to include more standards compliant buzzwords than the last. True, Microsoft doesn’t always deliver complete standards compliance, but nobody’s perfect. At least they’re trying. Or are they?

- Beastie Boyz
If I was to pick one band out of any, it would be the Beastie Boys. Ive been into the beastie boys since i can remember aged 8, 9 maybe and after a good year or so of speculation, Capitol Records has finally confirmed that the Beastie Boys’ new album, To The 5 Boroughs, will be released this summer.
An exact date has yet to be announced for the Oz release, but the first single from the album, "Ch-Check It Out,". Look for it on radio stations everywhere and through the almighty iTunes online music store. Director Nathanial Hornblower (the dude behind vids for "Intergalactic," "Body Movin’" and "So What’Cha Want") has already directed a video for the song. The video boasts "exclusive cameos" from Bonanza’s Lorne Greene and Star Trek’s Deforest Kelley. Now, both of those gentlemen have been dead for several years now, so their involvement in the video should be interesting.
