- Work-life balance

"Some may think House is a lazy individual but it’s not that simple. When he has to diagnose someone, when a case intrigues him, when he’s doing his job, that’s what he focuses on. He will relentlessly study a case to get better understanding. However, he also often does it in a way that would make any business manager proud; he delegates as much of it as possible to his team. This gives him plenty of time for himself. He doesn’t usually use his personal time constructively but that’s a separate issue" - 4 life lessions from House MD

- only genuinely...

Couple things bout the xmas break , I generally miss my family when I’m not around them, but when around them I realise how much I crave to be alone, with no questions to answer, no one to please or uphold, I only genuinely , just worked this out, that I am a loner an I like that .. as much fun as family are, I missed being alone …

I worked mostly over the break, work is a fine excuse to hide… I also managed to have a nice long talk with a police man on my drive home … an issue I don’t really want to share… 2009 cannot come any sooner

ps ive managed to fix my phone for those ppl who were constantly getting my voice mail ...

- No one knows what happened....

I saw a short clip on nat geo Sunday night about this image, it was taken 1994 an I had not seen this before. This picture depicts a famine stricken Sudanese child crawling towards a united nations food camp 1km away,

The vulcher is waiting for the child to die, so that it can eat it. No one knows what happened to the child as the photographer left the scene after taking the image.

The photographer went on to win the Pulitzer Prize for the image in 1994, he committed suicide 2 weeks later.

However bad your day is, be grateful.

- Four sharply dressed German men ...

Kraftwerk - Trans-Europe Express

i ventured out in brisbane town to watch mark ronson an the versions last night, then onto computer gods kraftwerk, i arrived fairly late, which was great, well actually perfect, because i missed most the dreaded heat and the over eager kids mostly dressed in fluro an designer shades, an over zealous bunch, who for the most part weren't sure they were either at , mud bath, designer show, summer bbq, an then on the other side of the arena, kept away from innocent event goer's - were the 'raver kids' undeniably trying to hold on for dear life....

By chance I managed to catch the tail-end of felix the house cat who i literally use to fall over for many moons ago, he played before ronson, and for the most part - felix, he was great, ah nostalgia, the sun, beginning to set, heavy storms threatening , anxious up for it rain desperately trying to pounce and felix blasting classic prodigy... ahh nostalgia , whicheven after 15yrs still sounded great ...

Then Ronson, who arrived on stage with a 12 piece band complete with horns and string sections which to be honest , was amazing, he played mostly stuff from back to black with guests doing vocals, also in toe was Daniel Merriweather, who strangely didn't sing the Smiths Cover Stop me or his most well known track Chainsaw.. Ronson made mention on how the hmm 2,000 stinky strong brisbane crowd had responded the warmest compared to Sydney and Perth, to which he said Perth is just plain weird .. here here ... he encored with with his radiohead cover of Just.....

Then onto Kraftwerk, who if you dont know, were making techno before it had a name, early 70's ...i have never had the chance to see them live before.. they didnt disappoint .. Four sharply dressed German men in their sixties, standing frozen robotic behind a snyth each accompanied with post war pop culture visuals. they opened with 'metal on Metal'... nuts .. it was failry obvious by the start that the majority of the crowd lasted half of that song , leaving confused with a 'Gay, wtf is this shit' look across there face an 'whys its so slow', besides it was way to dark for designer shades by this time, devo didnt gel to the majority of the crowd at the last show i went to an kraftwerk are way more obscure then that lot ... it was inevitable ...

anyways a dedicated crowd of maybe a ummm 800? strong fans, including more then handful of dads in there fiftys , who i guess just couldnt let the opportunity of grabbing some youth back and seeing kraftwerk live slip by, they played all the usuals , The model, Spacelabs, autobahn, all stuff created before i was born - eek, they returned to the stage late in the piece wearing the craziest neon flashing suits that would put tron to shame ..... i want one .. they closed with 'The Man Machine'.... they were incredible....

Above - attached is my favorite Kraftwerk track.

- srsly not advisable....

Fatboy Slim - You’re Not From Brighton

Living on your own is a pretty good thing an I’m really fortunate to do so … an although picking up all the bills , which at times, really does suck , id never complain… however some things challenge me … cooking for one is tough.. its like I never know how much is enough or if I ever fridge it , I rarely ever go back for seconds , so it turns into waste, … I also now know why my stepfather continually got upset at lights left on .. well turns out , even in a 2 bedroom apartment electricity's expensive.

Here’s few other tips ive learnt on my way….

Fabric softener – you know how your mother had a way of making things fluffy an smell great, well softener is the secret, cant wash without it
Business shirts – give em a flick before hangen em up .. saves ironing ya see
Yoghurt – if you leave yoghurt in the fridge long enough with the lid off, it will eventually go away an clean the mess up itself. Kinda like its own auto cleaning service.
House phone – I put this on cause it was just there an I thought why not .. Having an optional phone to your mobile turns out worthwhile.
Air conditioning – don’t cheap out on air conditioning , because in summer you’ll know if you did.
Neighbours - immediate ones .. avoid at all costs, talking to Neighbours only makes it easier for them to complain, although make friends with ppl a couple doors up, just not immediate ones.
Living with brothers – I love all my brothers, however avoid living with each other at all costs – srsly not advisable.
Keys - after losing three sets an calling the locksmith 3 times, get em cut , lots of em, 10 sets of . hide em in the garden...
Power Boxes – these have a main power switch, that should be turned off before checking fuses, I now know this, ouch...
Dryers – if you fill them up too much , they WILL blow up. I can gurantee this ..

If you have any tips. please share, as im still drastically learning here.

Update - this just gets better - Mark Cuban’s brother has posted online a series of fiery e-mails between Mr. Cuban and Jeffrey Norris, a Fort Worth lawyer with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission - link

"My blog, because the press never gets it right." - cuban

Above is the M Cuban tvc he did back in the day about HP , i like it alot, that campaign made me buy the machine, anyways . .. here's what valleywag have to say about the whole trading saga goin on atm.

"My guess on this week's insider trading charge against him? He did it, not thinking through the risks. But he's going to make the SEC look like a bunch of dolts on the Internet. Pass the popcorn!"

oh fun fun fun, i cant wait ...
