- Obsessive-Compulsive Personality Disorder

I never new .... A pervasive pattern of preoccupation with orderliness, perfectionism, and mental and interpersonal control, at the expense of flexibility, openness, and efficiency, beginning by early adulthood and present in a variety of contexts, as indicated by four (or more) of the following:

  • Is preoccupied with details, rules, lists, order, organization, or schedules to the extent that the major point of the activity is lost.
  • Shows perfectionism that interferes with task completion (e.g., is unable to complete a project because his or her own overly strict standards are not met).
  • Is excessively devoted to work and productivity to the exclusion of leisure activities and friendships (not accounted for by obvious economic necessity).
  • Is overconscientious, scrupulous, and inflexible about matters of morality, ethics, or values (not accounted for by cultural or religious identification).
  • Is unable to discard worn-out or worthless objects even when they have no sentimental value.
  • Is reluctant to delegate tasks or to work with others unless they submit to exactly his or her way of doing things.
  • Adopts a miserly spending style toward both self and others; money is viewed as something to be hoarded for future catastrophes.
  • Shows rigidity and stubbornness.
Kind of fits huh

- So Why Arnt They

Its not very often that I discuss topics about the politics of the internet and its responsibilities...

But here go's anyways ..

I was just down at my local news agency and it occurred to me that the publishing/magazine industry have just enough rite to complain about lost sales due to the internet. Just like illegal MP3's their are Audio books, PDF Books, Word docs which are all illegal representations of their respective selfs. And I'm sure all are aware of the record companies coming down like big brother on internet users complaining that the internet is responsible for the 10% decline of music sales. I really cant feel there pain. I'm not a big music buyer and I never really have been.

However ive always loved magazines/comics/papers. I can remember where id spend $100+ monthly on magazines. I still to today buy magazines/comics just for the appreciation factor really .. of being able to hold it, smell it, admire it But in todays day in age .... I read blogs or *cough* should I say websites.

The point im trying to make here is that the magazine/publishing industry have obviously reshaped and re structured there business/content even to suit today's day and age of digital information.

Radio never killed the Book.
TV never killed the Radio.
And the Internet will not kill the music industry.

So please Mr. Music Industry Man go back to the little room of mirrors and take a good hard look at yourself. And when you think you are suitable to return....

Please advise me.

- All of them

i want to be back in university.
so i don't come off as a clingy annoying asshole.
i need routine back.
i need to think better.
and plan stuff better.
and get hurt better.
i want to be somewhere else.
i want to be with my brothers. All of them.
listening to music.
without headphones or speakers.
but music that's just there.floating around.
while i look up at nothing but a blue oval.
sky blue.
with birds passing by.
and the sound of a river somewhere else.
with just me and my brothers. All of them.

- Are you Serious

Not only is the new logo for the NYC 2012 Olympics silly, gay, and somewhat reminicent of death, it features the Statue of Liberty, a site that you haven't even been able to visit for the past three years. (It's supposed to reopen in July, but until then Lady Liberty only symbolizes blinding fear in the face of terror.) Why not pick a more appropriate emblem for NYC? As the city considers the economic impact of millions of cash-rich tourists, shouldn't they think about the city residents who make this city what it really is? Isn't this the perfect occasion to honor the drunk, passed-out homeless men on street corners all over town? Thanks to their bearded friends sleeping under scaffolds, our sidewalks always have a slippery film of flammable urine and mothers always have examples to point to when their kids misbehave and threaten to drop out of school. And a candid logo for 2012 would probably win points with the Olympic selection committee: a little honesty goes a long way. (Or so we've been told.)
